She attended nursing school in Chicago and her desire to care for others expanded and grew even more while she attended and ultimately graduated from Moody Bible Institute, dreaming of going to China as a missionary.
Through a series of events brought into her life, she found her mission field in Eureka Springs on her arrival in 1970. Many knew Ruth through her work at local hospitals, teaching the first EMT course for Eureka Springs, or maybe you were a young girl with your adult "Pal" in the fun of Pioneer girls, or you could have been in a Bible study together followed by food and fellowship "down in the valley." Wherever your paths crossed, you knew Ruth loved the Lord and shared that with anyone and everyone in her path.
She is survived by family and many, many friends. A celebration of her life and ministry will be held at the First Christian Church on Passion Play Rd. on Saturday, March 14 at 2 p.m. Ruth is singing long and loud in that heavenly choir, let's sing some of her favorite hymns, reminisce and rejoice in the promise of Eternal Life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
