Sharon G. Jeffrey, age 68, of Holiday Island died Wednesday, Feb. 25 after a lengthy illness.
Sharon was born Aug. 12, 1940 in Lake Charles, La., the daughter of Charles and Geneva (McCourtie) Shown. Sharon worked all her life, spending more than 15 years in the airline industry and held various secretarial positions. She worked from her home the last eight years of her life and was very devoted to her church. Sharon loved dining out, spending time with family and friends, reading and watching movies.
She leaves behind her mother, Geneva Engelhardt (Shown) of the home. From her marriage to James Robert McLennan in 1955 and Benjamin Oliver Currin in 1960, she leaves behind four children, Bruce McLennan and his wife Caroline of Ft. Worth, Texas, Olivia D. Julo and her husband Mike of Atchison, Kan., Cathryn Thomas and her husband Greg of Olathe, Kan. and Geneva Currin of Eureka Springs; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Sharon dearly loved her friends and family. Her infectious laugh and zest for life will be greatly missed by many.
A memorial service was held on March 4 at the Holiday Island Community Church.
