Stowe and CSS students create gift

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

The Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville will receive a bench as a gift from the students of Clear Spring School (CSS). The piece was designed and built by woodworker and CSS teacher Doug Stowe with the assistance of his wordworking students.

The bench is made of walnut from materials harvested on the Crystal Bridges site at the request of Alice Walton.

The bench will be on display in the Historic Arkansas Museum in Little Rock from mid-May until January 2010.

Upon completion of Crystal Bridges, the piece will then move to the museum complex.
