Citizen of the Week

Thursday, June 11, 2009

This week's Citizen of the Week is Jack Baker. His nominator writes, "My father, a WWII U.S. Navy and Marine Corps veteran, recently passed away and Jack Baker stepped in and helped my mother and myself with our grief. He handled all the arrangements and joined other American Legion volunteers in firing an Honor Guard salute for Dad. He is a long-standing Grassy Knob volunteer and has helped many other families in their hours of need. I wish there were more Jack Bakers in the world." So do we.

Note: The nature of the Internet makes it impractical for our staff to review every comment. If you feel that a comment is offensive, please Login or Create an account first, and then you will be able to flag a comment as objectionable. Please also note that those who post comments on lovelycitizen.com may do so using a screen name, which may or may not reflect a website user's actual name. Readers should be careful not to assign comments to real people who may have names similar to screen names. Refrain from obscenity in your comments, and to keep discussions civil, don't say anything in a way your grandmother would be ashamed to read.

We are not at all surprised to see Jack as person of the week. He is a man who's friendship you can count on. He and his wife Tammy lead their life as good neighbors to anyone they come across in need of a hand. And, if you are lucky enough to be called his friend - well, you're lucky enough! Congratulations, Jack and Thank You, Pam & Denny
