James Matthew Wiliams was born Dec. 8, 1954. He was the first-born twin of Elijah and Mary Williams, delivered at St. Tammany Hospital in Covington, La. He died Nov. 28 in Mandeville, La.
He was one of six children. He was educated in St. Tammany Parish, graduating from Mandeville High School in 1973. James was a track star, breaking two school records, the 100-yard dash and 100-yard hurdles. He was given two keys to the city for these feats.
He married Lucretia Lang, who later gave birth to his first daughter, Amber. This union was later dissolved. Born to his union with Melissa Amussen were four daughters, Jasmine, Jessica, Camellia and Josie. James was preceeded in death by his parents, his twin John, and grandparents. He leaves to mourn his passing his daughters Amber W. Porta, Jasmine Mary, Jessica Margaret, Camellia Rose, and grandsons Christopher LaRue and Dominic Smith, sisters Lillian Hunt, Victoria Walton, Louise Williams and brothers Timothy and Keith Williams.
