Lovely County Citizen: Obituaries: Richard Dean Sutterfield (06/23/10)

Richard was born July 20, 1942 in Okeman, Okla., to Albert and Ruth Sutterfield. He died of cancer June 10, 2010, at his home in Louisiana with his wife, Ann, by his side and his faithful dog, Chloe, keeping watchful vigil since he came home from the hospital.

He is also survived by their son Nick Alden, Nick's wife Rachel, and his grandaughter Adison, and by sisters Gaile Donathan and Vivian Roberts and their families.

Richard served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked in Eureka Springs for many years before he and Ann retired to Louisiana to be nearer to Nick and his family. He received the OARS Volunteer of the Year award, and is remembered by many friends for his smile, his sense of humor, and his willingness to always help others.

He enjoyed playing golf and hot rod cars.

A celebration of his life will be scheduled for a future date.
