"Although he has many good points, I nominate Jerry Runnersmith because he cares about kids. Aside from being a full time history teacher at ESHS, he spends countless hours off the clock working with the youth.

"When they have plays, he not only writes and directs them, he builds the sets (staying as late at night as he can) and often the expenses come from his own pocket.

"He believes the youth of Eureka Springs are the most important commodity the town has. He leads by example, and has worked for many fundraisers.

"He plays a pretty mean saxophone, too."
