Dorothy Angelina Short, a resident of Eureka Springs, was born May 11, 1924 in Brooklyn, New York, a daughter of George and Edith (Zilli) Miller. She departed this life Friday, March 25, 2011in her home in Eureka Springs, at the age of 86 years.
Dorothy worked was a register nurse in the medical field. She and her husband owned the Cliff Dwellers Shop in Eureka Springs.
On May 5, 1943, Dorothy was united in marriage with James Woodleigh Short, Sr., who survives her of the home. She is also survived by one son, Leigh Short of Rowland Heights, Calif.; one daughter, Jami and husband, Lane Collier, of Broken Arrow, Okla.; one grandson, Marc Moyer and wife, Ashley, of Springfield, Mo.; two granddaughters in the United States Air Force, Lesley and Lynn Collier; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents.
There will be no visitation. Graveside services were March 30, 2011 at the Eureka Springs Cemetery with Loyel Lane Collier officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service, Inc. Online condolences may be sent to the family at nelsonfuneral.com.
