Kimberly Bingham (left) and Amanda Payne were so touched by news reports coming out of Joplin after that city was devastated by tornadoes that they decided to do something about it themselves.

Adding their youthful energy to local efforts to provide disaster relief, they established a drop-off place and then spent long hours placing collection boxes and papering every available flat surface in town with "Compassion for Joplin" flyers asking people to help. Now they're fielding phone calls at all hours and picking up donations.

You know, that is really a good thing.
