Sissy was on the euthanasia list at a Harrison shelter until she got another chance from the Good Shepherd Humane Society. GSHS couldn't find her owner and was close to making the hard choice until the Ford family in Eagle Rock took her in.

With a gentle temperament and superb blood type, Sissy, 10, has saved the lives of five other dogs through critical blood donations.

Her most recent donation helped a dog that had wrangled with another breed, and would've lost its own life if Sissy hadn't provided her blood.

We already know dogs are man's best friend -- nice to know they're each other's, too.
