Citizen of the Week
Anita Taylor was nominated because she knows everybody, likes everybody, helps everybody and is an extraordinary citizen. To know Anita is to love her.
She began selling ads for the Citizen in 2000, when the upstart paper was a baby with an uncertain future. In fact, she treated this paper as if it were a baby -- tended it, taught it and looked out for its future.
Now that job is over and the baby is grown, so Anita is retiring. We can't understand why she'd rather garden and teach her great-granddaughter how to occupy this world instead of beating the streets to meet crunching deadlines -- but that's just Anita.
