Saying no to smoking

Thursday, September 27, 2012
Every year for the past 30 years, Enid Swartz, an author, artist and former Citizen columnist, has celebrated the anniversary of the day she quit smoking by talking to an organization or school about the health problems 20 years of cigarettes exacerbated, both in her first-born child and herself. On Thursday, she told her story again to students at Eureka Springs High School. Swartz has a pacemaker and an artificial heart valve, but at 68, is in good health.
