  • This year it is exercising my right to vote. I have always enjoyed and taken great pride in doing so, but I have taken this precious right for granted. It turns out that others throughout the country might be finding it difficult to vote this year. Being a relatively healthy, white suburbanite who drives and has identification to prove it, I should find it easy to vote. Those intent on preventing Democrats from voting might even think I'm a Republican. I will vote for the candidates who will best take care of my family, friends, country and world. My peace of mind will follow, and that is all I ask my government to do for me, so, teachers, into whose hands I left my children, and into whose I will leave my grandchildren, this vote's for you. To those who will one day retire, and hope to be given real money, not coupons, this vote's for you. To those who are sick or have sick children or grandchildren who don't want to have coverage ended because lifetime dollar maximums have been exceeded or because of pre-existing conditions, this vote's for you. To the police and fire personnel, who lay their lives on the line every day, but who are not respected by our governor, this vote's for you. To workers, union and non-union, who give it their all every day, this vote's for you. To those who are unemployed but hoping the Republicans will stop holding up jobs bills, this vote's for you. To our brave veterans, many sent to war by a previous President but brought home by President Obama and hoping for Congress to come to your aid, this vote's for you. To the nuns on the bus, fighting for social justice and rights of the poor, aged, and affirmed, this vote's for you. To those who believe in rights for all people, regardless of their sexual orientation, this vote's for you. To young college students hoping to get a grant or low-interest loan to pursue your dreams, this vote's for you. To the rest of the 47% who would not be represented by a President Romney, this vote's for you, and to those who disagree with me, this vote is especially for you. Like President Obama and Senator Brown, I have your back, too.

  • Yo, ju-ju, who was holding up job bills during the first 2 years of the Obama Administration? The last time I checked, Democrats held a majority in both the Senate and the House during that period.

  • You forgot someone comrade, to 43% of Americans who actually pay federal income taxes to support lazy communists, those who continually choose to make the wrong life choices, and the other takers in society..this one's for you.

Jobs bill? Get out of bed and get a job.
