Purdy named board member of Del Shores Foundation
Local photographer Melodye Purdy has been named a board member of the Del Shores Foundation, an organization that helps develop new southern queer artistic voices by bringing together artists and working professionals, amplifying new work and connecting artists to platforms for the creation of the work.
Purdy has lived in Eureka Springs for more than 22 years, where she and her partner have been active in the community as entrepreneurs and volunteers. Purdy has a background as a mental health professional in hospice. She has also worked as a professional photographer for more than 36 years.
Purdy and her partner recently hosted Del Shores for two separate performances in Eureka Springs.
"I am so excited that Melodye Purdy has joined the board for the Del Shores Foundation," Del Shores said. "Melodye's passion for the arts, her activism for the LGBTQ community, her southern roots and her support for my own work makes her the perfect fit for our mentoring of LGBTQ southern storytellers."
